Clearly this week I've got bordeaux on the brain (see exhibits A and B), and today is no different. I can't help it, it's one of my favorite fall colors every year regardless of what's trendy. When I found these leather shorts on a recent trip to Nordstrom Rack, I was one smitten kitten. While they're perfect for all the black sweaters and jackets in my fall wardrobe, I really love them paired with a similarly-hued top for a monochromatic look. The kicks were a sweet score recently at Nordstrom, and I'll definitely be breaking them in during a couple of upcoming trips to Las Vegas and New York. After wearing the crap out of these Zara heels, I knew I wanted some sort of flat version, and these fit the bill perfectly. (Also really loving this black pair. My closet could use both, no?) Hope everyone has an amazing weekend! xoxo

Zara shorts; Pickwick & Weller Tee (c/o); jacket (c/o) T.J.Maxx; Necessary Clothing booties (sold out, but love these); Miriam Merenfeld necklace (c/o); Ray-Ban sunglasses Today's Friday Favorite post contains a whole outfit of favorites, and it pretty much sums up my weekday uniform. By now, I've worn these shorts on the blog quite a few times (See 1, 2, and 3). I try to keep the blog as authentic and truthful as possible, and the authentic truth is that I wear the crap out of these shorts so it's a wonder they haven't shown up more. And the same goes for these booties. They're battered and probably on the verge of retirement, but for some reason, I just love them. The tee is a relatively new favorite discovery, and if you haven't checked out Pickwick & Weller, I'd definitely recommend it. Their tees fit just so, and they're perfectly paper-thin without becoming too sheer. I'm dying to check out the modal collection as well. (Also, fun fact: Ashton Kutcher is one of the co-founders along with a couple of his buddies. I'd be willing to bet their men's line is pretty sweet as well.) The leather jacket was a recent scoop on the way out of T.J.Maxx, and the leather feels amazing. I'm also slightly obsessed with the worn-in blush color. The necklace might be my favorite piece of this puzzle. It's simple enough, but these pictures don't really give the details justice. Each disc is engraved with your choice of letter or symbol. Mine has a couple of initials (my own and my someone special) and an elephant for good luck. If you're looking for a personalized piece for yourself or someone else, you must check out Miriam Merenfeld Jewelry. They just do it right. With so many options for clothing and accessories daily, it's always nice to find a few that just speak to me. Which pieces in your wardrobe are currently speaking to you?
xoxo Nothing breaks up a long week like a fresh pair of kicks and a bauble or two, so today I'm sharing a couple of Friday Favorites from this week. Sole Society jump-started my fall boot obsession with this little suede pair, and I must say I'm pretty obsessed. (Confession: I immediately ripped them out of the box and stomped around the house in them.) They're the perfect transitional booties, and I plan on rocking them with just about everything in my closet: cutoffs and cuffed skinnies, flirty dresses and even a leather mini (see Wednesday's post). And onto the jewels. It's no secret that I'm a big fan of Gorjana and all of their stackable, mixable, matchable gems, and with their recent site relaunch, I'm an even bigger fan. I'm a sucker for delicate little necklaces like this one, and the studded cuff is such a throw-on-and-go, everyday piece. Have you guys checked out the new site remodel? Guaranteed to get your weekend off to a great start. Happy shopping, and an even happier weekend! xoxo Shop It: Gorjana Oldie but goodie: Julie Vos jewels. If you haven't checked out the line, today is the day. They are having a major sample sale with so many delicious pieces marked WAY down. (Currently loving these Stingray Bangles) No time like the present to head over and get your shop on. Happy Friday, everyone! Above are a few of my favorite things this week, including a couple of September issues that I've yet to sink my teeth into. I'm thinking this weekend at the beach will be the perfect time to jump in. Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!
xoxo As I mentioned in yesterday's post, this week I came across a great new jewelry line OK1984. From bold gold chains to muted silver pieces, the hand-designed collection is full of versatile statement-makers, all made in Los Angeles. The best part? The line is actually affordable. (I dig a good high-end bauble as much as the next, but let's be real: a girl's gotta pay rent.) Now, OK1984 is sweetening the deal with a little discount shopping incentive. Enter code "MSD30" at checkout and receive 30% off site-wide. (That means something like the Lily Necklace above will cost you around 16 bucks. Score.) Happy Friday, everyone, and happy shopping!
